HISTORY

Our center was officially opened on April 1, 2015. It all started with Noel Oakman: an equestrian, a coach and the current owner of the EC. Being in love with horses since childhood, she never betrayed her dream of having her own stable. For a long time dreams remained just dreams, but moving to Iceland radically changed the life of a girl and became a decisive step in making these dreams come true. By a happy coincidence, Noelle heard about once working, but now abandoned stable. The old stable was transformed, expanded and turned into an excellent EC. It used to be located on one of the western shores of Iceland near Vík and we stayed there until July 2017 when everything has changed. There was a number of reasons why we had to leave this stable: harsh Icelandic climate; volcanoes, ready to awoke at any moment; problems with the law concerning non-Icelandic horses and, of course, my own desire - all this led us eventually to Norway, a beautiful country of fjords and forests. We settled on one of its western shores as there was an available building site - the sea seems to be following us everywhere. Noel feels that this was the last moving, and we've finally found our place.

What we have now is a large and beautiful equestrian centre surrounded by dense forest. Our facilities include 2 comfortable horse stables, lots of paddocks and pastures, indoor and outdoor arenas, a cross country course, a hay barn and a staff house. This is also a great place to go for a walk for those who love nature.

*Our stable used to be called Norðurljós Equestrian Centre, so if you see something like 'Norðurljós EC' or 'NLEC' - it's still about us.
